Approach

The key to great actor casting headshots is feeling relaxed and comfortable. All sessions with me start with an informal chat over a cuppa. We’ll use this time to get to know one another and discuss your requirements for your session.

Whether this is your first professional actors’ headshot session, a casting headshot update or a specific look or emotion you want to capture, I’ll work with you to make sure we achieve it. We’ll be collaborating the entire time and, if appropriate, I may ask for a range of emotions such as anger, hurt, fear, happiness – it all depends on what you are looking to achieve. We’ll work together throughout the session, reviewing the images on the camera, as we go. We also review all images on a large monitor at the end as well.

Clothing

I suggest you bring a range of 4 or 5 outfits. Plain colours are better and they should be clothes that you feel comfortable in. My studio is fitted with a dedicated, private changing room and all the amenities you need to get into character.

Depending on the weather, available light and shoot options chosen, we may go outside for a while to shoot against different backdrops and make the most of natural lighting.

After the session

Within 2 business days of your session you will receive a link to your proof images. Your chosen images will be retouched and supplied to you at 8×10, optimised for print and web use in both colour and black and white.

For more information about the session options available see our pricing page.
